Holistic Psychology Practice

Dr Lauren Canvin

I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist, having worked in the NHS for 8 years. I am trained in a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, ACT, CFT, DBT, Narrative, and Systemic Therapy. I also draw on attachment, trauma-informed, and psychodynamic models.

I have completed 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training, and draw on Yoga Philosophy and Practice in therapy.

I believe in working holistically - understanding human difficulties and suffering in the context of life experience, social circumstances, family life, spirituality, and relationship with the body.

How can therapy help?

I can offer support around low self-esteem, identity, self-criticism, trauma, attachment, low mood, and anxiety.  I can also offer psychological support for managing physical health symptoms, such as pain or fatigue. I have significant experience working with people with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences. I am also very experienced in supporting individuals wishing to explore their sexuality and gender.

How does therapy work?

I can offer sessions either online, or face to face at YogaSara, Bristol. Our first meeting would be a no-obligation assessment where I get to know you, and you get to know me, and we think together about how I might be able to help. I can offer sessions as frequently as once a week, or less frequently if you prefer. I charge £110 per session, and concessionary rates are available.

Email me to enquire about therapy, or book in your first appointment.
